2.1: iCare AMS Server

iCare AMS Server is executed on a remote computer and receives queries from all iCare AMS Clients. iCare AMS Manager is running back-end to support periodic services such as backup, database maintenance, email notifications and more.

More specific information about AMS Server Installation, administration and backup can be found in the Installation Manual.

DATA BACKUP

As a critical application, AMS comes with automated backup functions. AMS Manager run the backup service every night (defined by the AMS Administrator) even if some AMS Clients are connected (hot backup). These backup are stored on a 7 days cycle (there are always 7 copies of your database, 1 for each of the last 7 days) and does not require any human intervention.

Optionally, you can also activate incremental backup (N-backup) at a user defined interval as short as every 5 minutes. This N-backup function is also supported by AMS Manager

The overnight backup service and the N-Backup service are independent.

DATA SECURITY

AMS users authenticate using a login and password. This login, and especially the password, transits over the network only in encrypted form and the decryption key never transits over the network (in proprietary encryption mode) and in SHA encrypted form (in SSL mode). User passwords are stored in their encrypted form so that it is not possible to recover a password even with administrator access

Optionally, you can increase security using 2-factor identification (2FA) (mobile phone required)

CALCULATION OF ALERTS

AMS Manager also calculate the alerts every night (as defined by the AMS Administrator)

Each time a user connects to the AMS Server, the last date of backup and alert calculation are verified. If for any reason, the backup or the alert calculation was not executed over the last 24 hours, each AMS Client receives a warning message.
