AMS can be used to monitor the performance of all staff (not only the flight crew or engineers but all staff including administration).
Human Performance Monitoring can be viewed as a set of processes to ensure that goals are consistently being met in an effective and efficient manner. These processes should aim at getting all employees to reconcile personal goals with organizational goals and increase productivity and profitability of an organization.
These processes typically include:
•a clear definition of the job mission usually in the form of a mission statement and/or a position description exposing the performance measurable for each job;
•the tools necessary to monitor the achievement against the measurable. Experience demonstrates that human performance is significantly improved when systems are in place to monitor individual performance;
•processes and authority to enforce these performance measurable.
It can be applied by organizations or a single department or section inside an organization.
AMS is providing the tool (bullet point n°2) to monitor individual performance.
