When a tool (/ a material subject to shelf life) is received, the validity date of the current calibration (/ Shelf Life) is entered on the MREC.
This validity date is then monitored by AMS and you can receive notifications when a calibration ( / Shelf Life) is approaching.
To receive notifications, proceed as follows:
1/ On the main window, select the "Shelf Life Approaching" alert notification (Note: Shelf Life and Tool Calibration are handled by the same alert)
(Each user who want to receive these notification shall subscribe to this alert)
2/ From the date of subscription to the above alert notification, the concerned user will receive alerts whenever a tool calibration, or a Shelf Life) is approaching (example in the screen shot below) - Double click on the notification to display the tool and the calibration due date

Beside the above alert notifications, you can request AMS the list all tools coming due for calibration.
- Go to the "Part/Batch" module and select all "Tool Serialized" having a calibration date falling due before 01-JAN-2017 (screen shot)
