5-3-4-7 Procedure: Management of AD's

AMS can be used to fulfill the mandatory procedures for AD (Airwothiness Directive) management.

Implementation:

For each maintenance protocol (Maintenance Programme), proceed as follows (all field data are for example, shall be tailored to your approved procedures)

Create a new MR (the type of this MR should be consistent with the ones of your Maintenance Programme, usually E.O - Engineering Order) and set the fields as follows:

- ATA = 0520 (scheduled maintenance)

- Reference= 0520-BIWEEK

- Part = 1

- Rev = 0

- Title = BIWEEKLY ENGINEERING TASKS

- Text = BIWEEKLY ENGINEERING TASKS

- Define a limitation / Repeat interval 0.5 month

- Effectivity = your protocol

- Operation #1 =

CHECK FAA AD Bi-weekly

Check news AD on the FAA AD website (http://www.faa.gov/regulations_policies/) and implement in AMS ALL AD effective to:

- Airbus A320 series

- Components

- CFM56-5 engines

Note 1: Special dispositions / procedures could be added to the above accomplishment instructions. Depending on the size of the organization, the new ADs can be added directly to AMS (as approved and effective MRs) or as amendments to be approved by an airworthiness manager.

Note 2: We recommend to use the same logic to implement the other airworthiness department tasks (non exhaustive list):

- Renewal of Airworthiness certificates

- Aircraft weighting (if not already included in the Maintenance Programme)

- Internal airworthiness reviews

- SB analysis
