AMS provides several functions to manage recurring defects
Real time recurring defect identification:
An alert is automatically sent when a Recurring Defects is detected. This alerts is part of the the "Airworthiness Alerts" which can be subscribed on the welcome screen. This new alert is sent immediately when a new line maintenance defect is recorded (or a defect which is not Base Maintenance) and at least one other defect was recorded for the same aircraft and the same ATA chapter using a least 3-significant digits. (note that defects require 3-significant digits to be recorded)
Legacy recurring defect report:
This function is provided for backward compatibility. An Excel template report is used to identify potential recurring defects. It is recommended to perform this procedure on a weekly basis
1/ Select General / Utilities / Excel template export
2/ Select the file MWORK-RECURRENTDEFECTS-01-.xltx from your hard drive
3/ A window opens and provides two fields to enter the desired date range for the analysis (the 3 last month is recommended). Enter these dates and click on the OK button
This will open MS Excel and show the recurring defects with their associated details (date, WO reference, aircraft registration, defect raised, closure action)
